The Neptune controls have been designed with the Western kitchen in mind. The new control panel is membrane sealed making it easy to clean with insured reliability.
Electrolysis Chamber (Water Cell) - While not as powerful as the Melody's water cell the Neptune's water cell is stronger than the Microlite, giving you ample pH and ORP when used with almost any USA approved council water source. Jupiter is renowned for fine water cells. Did you know that Jupiter actually makes water cells for other ionizer manufacturers such as Hyundai, Samsung, Toyo and LG? And that all Jupiter ionizer cells are manufactured in Japan? Like the Microlite and Jupiter Melody, the Jupiter Neptune water cell is designed to drain completely so that there is no standing water in the cell between uses. One of the reasons that the Neptune is programmed to go into an automatic clean cycle with every use is so that all of the standing water will be purged out. If water was allowed to remain between uses the water would not be fully ionized and could absorb flavors resulting from lime build-up within the cell.
Semi-Automatic Cleaning - The Neptune will automatically go into a clean cycle each time you turn your ionizer on using the power button. If however, you simple turn off the water flow then your Neptune will go into sleep mode and will awaken when water is turned on again. If the power button is not used then there is no auto clean and you should manually clean your unit at least once every day. The Microlite does not have a power button on the front but otherwise has cleaning functions similar to the Neptune. (The Melody has a patented fully automatic reverse cleaning system which gives you clean, alkaline, ionized water every time you turn on your ionizer, no wait time during cleaning!).
Coral Calcium Port and LED Filter Life Indicator - The Neptune comes with an inbuilt coral calcium port (just like the Melody) and has a digital counter showing the estimated life of your included Biostone filter. The Microlite does not have a coral calcium port and uses four color bars that all light up when the filter needs to be replaced. The Melody has a full featured LED display and also comes with a coral calcium port.

What is pH???

More and more people today are learning the importance of good internal body pH. pH in the scientific world stands for "potential for Hydrogen" (ph represents the negative logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration). It actually should be called the "potential for Health". pH is a value that indicates whether a substance is either acidic or alkaline. The pH scale is 0 (acidic) to 14 (alkaline). In the middle, the value of 7 represents neutral which is neither acidic or alkaline. With each Neptune Water Ionizer you receive a pH color chart and testing liquid so you can test the pH of your output water. The optimum pH you are eventually looking for in Alkaline Drinking Water is anywhere between 8.0 to 9.5 pH. Your output water directly depends upon the input water to the water electrolysis unit.

Because everyone's input water is not the same you need the capability, at the Point-Of-Use, to adjust for the optimum pH level and to test to see your actual pH out. With the Neptune Water Ionizer you have 4 Level Alkaline settings for pH. Level settings allows you, the user, to have full control to slowly and gradually increase the pH and alkalinity of your water until you reach an acceptable pH out. Like anything else, you should NEVER start drinking high pH water initially. Slowly increase the pH level (every 2 weeks) until you reach within the 8.0 to 9.5 pH area.

Also, because drinking alkaline water has become very popular in the past years (1998) there has been many lower priced water ionizers reaching the market place. Some are older units and some are not what you would expect from a quality water ionizer. We simply will quote "If it is to good to be true, it probably is." Our advise would be to "purchase a water ionizer from a quality company selling water products".

Note for Well Water, RO and Distilled Water

Note: ALL alkaline water ionizers (Water Electrolysis) units are designed and SHOULD ONLY be used on Municipality Treated Water Systems. They should NOT be used on Well Water Systems! ALL well waters are totally different and many have variant levels of pollutants such as Sulphur and IRON that can and will damage the electrolysis of ANY alkaline water ionizer. The Carbon pre-filters in ALL alkaline water ionizers are for Chlorine reduction and sediment ONLY, they will NOT REMOVE Iron, Sulfur, Fluoride, etc.. Also, RO or Distilled Water CANNOT be used with a water Electrolysis machine because these waters have no minerals in which to activate electrolysis.
